Exciting, mesmerizing, and energetic are just a few words to describe krosfyah vocalist, Khiomal Nurse. Whether he is singing or wining his waist, Khiomal certainly keeps his fans attention with his talent. Hailing from the island of Barbados, Khiomal is adding to the list of why Barbados is one of the leading islands for soca and calypso music.

Performing comes naturally to Khiomal "Khiomal" Nurse, the words; exciting, mesmerizing, energetic, dedicated, humble, perfectionist and loyal are some of the words that are used to describe this very talented artiste.

In 1996, at the tender age of fourteen, Khiomal emerged onto the Barbados' entertainment arena in the Pinelands Calypso competition and captured the Monarch title. In the same year, he was a finalist in the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Contest. He retained the Pinelands Calypso Monarch title in 1997 and 1998 respectively.

Later that year, He went onto a bigger stage and won the 1998 Junior Calypso Monarch title. At age 17, Khiomal placed 4th in the 1999 Pic O-De-Crop Finals, alongside some of calypsos greats such as Gabby, TC, Kid Site and many more. It must be noted that he became the youngest person to ever compete in this highly respected competition. He also won the Best Nation Building prize with his song "Rise Barbados Rise".

Khiomal's experience as a Lead Vocalist is very wide, having performed on the hotel circuit and at nightclubs with bands such as Caribbean Music Machine and Double Xplojun. This young performer was approached by Barbados' top leading soca band and one of the leading bands in the Caribbean; Krosfyah and in 2000 to join them as one of their lead vocalists.

In 2001, Khiomal alongside Edwin Yearwood and Krosfyah captured the Tune of the Crop with "Sak Pase". This song became an instant classic and has since been recorded in Creole. An integral role in Krosfyah, Khiomal has sharpened his writing skills and gone on to write and sing hits such as "No Wallflowers", "Welcome to de Band" and "Strong Back".

With a great stage presence, he always keeps his audience entertained. With a waist like rubber band and a voice like sugar, Khiomal continues to make his mark in soca music. Never a dull moment while performing, it's not unusual to catch a glimpse of females trying to grab some part of him as his movements can be hypnotizing.

His path of constancy to success continued in 2006 when he placed 4th in the Party Monarch competition.

In 2007, Khiomal continued on his successful soca path with his pulsating party track; "Bashment Bacchanal", which earned him 3rd place in the Party Monarch competition. He was also a Semi-Finalist in the Pic O-De-Crop with "One Bad Decision" and "Miracle". His other tracks released that year; "Bumper Buffet", "Set Us Free" and "Higher" continue to be steadily rotated on a number of radio stations, regionally and internationally.

Crop Over 2008, like was electrifying for Khiomal as his first Party Monarch title, with his infectious and energetic song, "Unleash De Beast".

His other three Crop Over 2008 releases; the jouvert style "Til Morning", the slow and groovy "Like So" and the sizzling soca "Start De Madness", are all receiving heavy rotation on the airwaves. With the exception of "Unleash De Beast" which is on MonstaPiece's "Reloaded" album, all of the other songs are featured on Krosfyah's 2008 album "The Journey".

Khiomal is currently one of the generals (General Khaos) of the "Monster Army Ambassadors"; which is a promotion being undertaken by one of his sponsors, Monster Energy.

With a love for all genres of music, apart from calypso and soca, Khiomal also performs; R&B and reggae, and can sing anything from a sweet slow ballad to a high energetic tune.
